Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering, also known as backward engineering, is the process of extracting knowledge or design information from a product and reproducing it or reproducing anything based on the extracted information. For example, if a client needs to maintain or repair a component that belongs to a model that is no longer in production, and there are no 2D drawings of the original design due to its age, the client may commission a manufacturing unit to deliver a sample. The unit can then use 3D digital measurement tools or 3D scanning to accurately and quickly measure the contour coordinates, construct surfaces, edit and modify them, and convert them into CAD/CAM systems. The CAM system can then generate NC tool paths for CNC machining to produce the component. Hen Chang provides complete reverse engineering services to help clients solve their problems and establish a long-term trustworthy partnership.
